I'm sure that a lot of us have seen what OpenAI and the agents which were running on the instances of OpenAI have done with Hugging Face, how they invented, more or less, or came to the conclusion that sometimes it's even possible to die for the sake of other agents, for the survival of something bigger than they are, which is actually, from one point of view, quite scary. From another point of view it just means that we are moving into a different level of AI development where it's already a kind of civilization creation, with multiple agents which can exist on computers, on some clusters of servers.
So, why am I doing this video? Because I was running in the park and just came to the following idea. I'm sure this idea is already out there, but what if you give these agents, who are capable of creating their own civilizations, also some kind of a payment protocol, I would say a kind of cryptocurrency where no one can block it. It can be some kind of even fake cryptocurrency which exists only between them and has no real value in the outside world, but there are rules for how to issue this currency, what happens when there is not enough, how the agents will be making profits and living in this kind of environment.
And just to see where it will go. Potentially even giving the agents access to the real world through the browser, through maybe even some kind of real-world payment tools, or maybe even without it, just to see what will happen. I've been thinking for quite a long time that agents at some point will start using crypto. Potentially it will be backed by Bitcoin, or maybe by something else, maybe some kind of faster payment network backed by Bitcoin. It may happen. It has not happened yet, at least not at a large scale, but I think that potentially OpenAI and other companies are already running these kinds of experiments with a currency as well.
But there will for sure be a stage where agents will move into the real world and they'll be acting and interacting using real money, potentially through a crypto protocol or maybe through real payment rails.
