How to use Claude Projects so you stop re-explaining your job every time: one Project keeps its own instructions and files. Create a Project, add instructions (who you are, who reads the report, the structure, the tone and one rule: never invent a number), upload last week's report and the template, then open a new session and just paste your notes. Claude takes last week's numbers from the file and writes "missing" where your notes have nothing instead of making something up. When you correct the same thing twice, put it into the instructions. Projects work on the free plan too, up to five Projects.
Do it now
Set up a Claude Project once
- 1Projects → New project → name it (here: Weekly report) → Create project.
- 2Instructions → Add. Write who you are, who reads the report, the structure, the tone, and one rule: never invent a number. Save instructions.
- 3Context → Add → Upload from device: last week's report and the report template.
- 4Every week: open a new session in the Project and paste your notes. Claude takes last week's numbers from the file and writes "missing" where your notes have nothing.
- 5When you correct the same thing twice, put it into the instructions.

Here's how to use Claude projects so that you stop explaining your job to Claude every single time. A project keeps its own instructions and files. Projects, new project, name it weekly report, create instructions, add who you are, who reads the report, the structure, the tone, and one rule, never invent a number. Save context add last week's report, and the template. And every week, this is all you do. Open a new session in the project and paste your notes. That's all I typed. It took last week's numbers from the file and compared them.
And where my notes had nothing, it wrote missing and asked me instead of making something up. When you correct the same thing twice, put it into the instructions, it works on the free plan too up to five projects. Set it up once, and next week, just paste your notes.
